We’re excited y’all - for real this time. All of us here at the Mercer Theatre are hype for the JJ Grey & Mofro toue coming to the stage this October! On Wednesday the 1st, they'll roll through town as they keep hitting shows on their absolutely goated 2025 Olustee Tour. The band has been making loops in the U.S. and the EU all year long playing at sold out shows from L.A. to Italy - from massive festival slots to intimate settings and venues all around. And quite frankly, we’re honored to be one of the stops on what’s shaping up to be a truly special era for this Southern soul powerhouse. THis season is going down in Savannah as the boys take on the tour's Southern leg — a needed homecoming for the south that helped define their sound. We couldn’t be more excited to have them back under our roof, filling our theater with swampy grooves, Southern gospel, funk, and blues.

For JJ Grey & Mofro, the Jackonsville giants who have been making hits since the last 1990s, Olustee marks a comeback nearly a decade in the making. After nine years away from the studio, JJ returned with an album that’s personal, gritty, emotional, and wide open — just like the Florida swamps and small towns that inspired so many of his songs over the years. The new record, Olustee, named after a Civil War battleground and symbolic of JJ’s deep roots and hard-fought growth, sees the band expanding their sound like never before. We're talking lush orchestration, full gospel harmonies, and hard-grooving rhythm sections that are made to be felt live — and loud. And that’s what makes this moment so important. JJ Grey isn’t just revisiting old stories — he’s writing new chapters in real time. His voice still carries that soulful grit fans have loved since Lochloosa and Country Ghetto, but there’s something more now — something lived-in and urgent. These songs, like “The Sea” and “Rooster,” hit harder live, and thanks to the expanded 11-piece touring band, the sound is bigger than ever.
