Johnny Mercer Theatre
Justin Willman comes to the Johnny Mercer Theatre on Friday, December 19th, and quite frankly, what a way to end the year! It's been a while since this venue hosted such a high-profile show like this one. That's not a knock on the stars that have graced this stage in 2025. It's just that, when was the last time that we had a high-profile magic/comedy act? Even Vegas is drying up on those!
Luckily for the good people of Savannah, pretty much the only comedic magician who has a Netflix special, Justin Willman, picked this spot to host one of the nights on his "One For the Ages" tour. It's a show that the entire family can enjoy. When it's all set and done, you're going to be leaving the theater with a big smile on your face. There are a few "promises" that Justin Willman has made for the shows that are a part of this new "One For the Ages" tour. The first and most obvious one is that he's bringing all-new material to Savannah. If you've seen him on Netflix or live at another stop that wasn't from this particular tour, you don't need to worry. You're going to know the upbeat vibe of the show and the great personality that Justin Willman has on stage. Yet, you won't have any spoilers with regard to what's gonna go down at the Johnny Mercer Theatre on Friday, December 19th.
This is increasingly hard to come by these days—almost as hard as finding a magician who's actually funny! Apologies to the legends Penn and Teller; that was not a jab at them. The thing is, most adult-oriented comedy is definitely not suitable for kids. Then you go to a kids' show as an adult and you're not having a ton of fun. All of a sudden, Justin Willman walks out on stage, and you start to see that the term family-friendly fun is not dead yet! The jokes are a good laugh for the audience, and the high-energy nature of the show ensures that kids aren't yawning minutes into the performance. In fact, it's one of those nights when you're going to discover they have a longer attention span than you ever realized. That's what happens when performers of this caliber take the stage!
If you're too close to the action, you might miss the full scope of the magic that's happening right in front of your eyes. Yet, some skeptics of the magic world actually like to sit up front to try and peek behind the curtain. If you want to truly enjoy the show, maybe find seats in the middle of the theater, a few rows removed from the stage. You'll take in every joke and trick from the best vantage point in those sections.
