The World Ballet Company bringing Cinderella to a worldwide tour hitting fifty plus stages across the globe is actually insane. Whether you first read the story or you saw it in the movie - Cinderella is the iconic film that everyone knows and loves, and it’s no coincidence that the Ballet is touring the romantic drama anime as it turns 75 this year. And with more dates scheduled than ever - the tour is guaranteed to be massive! And lucky us - we’ll be able to catch it right here at Mercer on October the 19th. Cinderella is the vivid story about the lonely and bullied stepdaughter Cinderella who is whisked away to a ball that the king is throwing for his son to find a wife. Despite her step sister’s best efforts, she is able to woo the young prince, She loses a glass slipper, her family tries to thwart her so many times, but the story is the true definition of love prevails over all! Choreographed by Marina Kesler and scored by Sergei Prokofiev, the live action ballet of Cinderella is as magical as it sounds, and is absolutely the perfect thing to do on a Sunday evening in the city with your Cinderella, too! “The idea was to evoke a cinematic feeling in the viewer where every gesture and scene is made clear,” Kesler, one of the head directors of The World Ballet Company said in a news release. “I think we totally did that, too!”. Well - we can’t wait to see what the night will entail this October!
