The MISTER WHATEVER TOUR initially made its debut in 2025, and demand has been soaring through the roof as John Mulaney’s fans keep begging for more. Just in, the Emmy Award-winning comic just announced 25 new dates for the North American trek, crossing over to 2026. Following his jam-packed “From Scratch tour” and his recent Netflix special “Baby J,” Mulaney has been solidifying his reputation for his humor, honesty, and razor-sharp wit.
The American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer rose to the scene for his work on Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2013. Contributing many iconic sketches and characters, he soon became a powerhouse in the comedy & entertainment industry. Since he left SNL, Mulaney has hosted the show for six times — making him a member of the SNL Five Timers Club in 2022. Over the years, he’s released several stand-up specials, including “Baby J,” “Oh, Hello on Broadway,” “The Top Part,” “The Comeback Kid,” “Kid Gorgeous at Radio City,” and “John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch.”
His most recent release “Baby J” on Netflix in 2023 arrived five years after “Kid Gorgeous at Radio City” (2018). The special saw Mulaney looking back at his experiences with drug addiction and rehabilitation. Gaining positive reviews from critics, the special was a hit, and Mulaney was praised for his honesty, storytelling, and clever wit.
“There’s undoubtedly a lot more weight on Mulaney’s shoulders, and more retrospection in his storytelling. But few comedians are currently working with his kind of natural talent,” The Atlantic’s David Sims commented about Baby J.
Though people commented on its darker matters, “my goal was to present this as funny as possible with no dramatic pauses,” Mulaney shared with DEADLINE. “I wanted it to be a joke-driven special about something that is complex and sad and a little scary, but has a ton of very specific details. It was an action-packed time.”
In 2025, his live variety talk show, “Everybody's Live with John Mulaney,” premiered on Netflix to the delight of his fans.
