Ever since its premier in January 1890 in St. Petersburg, illustrious Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, director Ivan Vsevolozhsky, and legendary choreographer Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty became a much adored highlight in the repertoire of ballet companies worldwide. The ballet is a classic retelling of the well-known fairy tale about Aurora, a princess doomed to a century-long sleep by the wicked fairy Carabosse - a curse only true love’s kiss can break.
Whether you are a romantic at heart, heard the tale as a child, or simply enjoy a good story, Aurora’s tough journey towards true love is one that truly warms the heart and soul.
